Dubai Mallathon brings free 1.5km walking session to DXB this Friday
Participants can choose between two routes at Terminal 3
DUBAI – The Dubai International (DXB) is set to offer residents and members of the airport community a different way to start their Friday morning, with Dubai Mallathon bringing a free organised walking session to Terminal 3 on August 14.
The airport has become the first non-mall venue to host the citywide fitness initiative, extending the summer programme into one of Dubai's busiest transport hubs. Participants will be able to walk through Concourse B while choosing between two distances, with no registration required.

The Friday activity will take place at the Family Zone near Gate B28 in Concourse B, giving participants a designated meeting point before the walks begin. Two sessions have been scheduled, allowing people to choose a time that suits them.
Friday sessions
The first walking session will run from 7:30am to 9:30am, followed by a second session from 9:30am to 11:30am. Participants can choose between a 750-metre route or a 1.5km walk, depending on how far they want to go.
Participation is completely free, and there is no registration requirement, making the activity accessible to those who want to join without making advance arrangements.
The event is part of the 2026 Dubai Mallathon, a citywide fitness initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
Traditionally, Dubai Mallathon turns air-conditioned shopping centres into walking and running tracks during the hotter months, allowing people to remain active indoors. This year's programme has expanded beyond malls, with DXB becoming the first airport venue to host the initiative.
Airport track
Dubai Airports said the DXB programme is designed to bring physical activity into the daily routines of the airport community, including employees, partners and members of the public.
The initiative also forms part of a wider programme of indoor walks taking place at the airport throughout August. Further sessions are scheduled every Friday at key locations across Terminal 3, bringing together members of the oneDXB community, airport partners and the public.
The August programme will culminate on August 28, when the final session will mark Emirati Women's Day. Dubai Airports is inviting members of the oneDXB community to participate in the walk while recognising the contributions of Emirati women across the organisation and the wider aviation sector.
Dubai Mallathon's expansion to DXB comes as the 2026 edition continues across participating venues until September 15. The initiative is designed to make physical activity more accessible during the summer by providing air-conditioned spaces for walking and running.
